Security Analyst
Leading organisation in Dublin is seeking a skilled Security Analyst to join its dynamic and growing team. This role will play a vital part in safeguarding the organisation's systems, infrastructure, and data, ensuring optimal security in a constantly evolving digital environment. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative team, utilise the latest cybersecurity technologies, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, analytical abilities, and an understanding of industry security standards and tools. With cyber threats becoming increasingly sophisticated, this role provides an opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to play a pivotal role in risk assessment, threat mitigation, and system monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse security alerts, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate remediation measures.
- Investigate security incidents, breaches, and anomalies to ensure rapid resolution.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
- Maintain and enhance security monitoring tools and systems, including SIEM solutions.
- Develop, implement, and review security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Support the design and implementation of security strategies across systems and networks.
- Assist in employee security awareness training and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure security compliance and alignment with organisational objectives.
- Produce regular reports on security posture, incidents, and trends for senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience in a security analyst or related role.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Experience with SIEM platforms, network monitoring tools, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Demonstrable knowledge of risk analysis, incident response, and threat intelligence.
- Experience in penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and other security assessment methodologies.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex security-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
