Cyber Security Analyst
Cyber security is at the forefront of modern business operations, ensuring organisations remain resilient against evolving digital threats. A well-established company in Dublin is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Analyst to enhance its security posture. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical security initiatives, working alongside experienced professionals to safeguard systems and data.
This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of cyber security principles, risk management, and incident response. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, identifying, and mitigating security threats while implementing best practices to protect against cyber risks.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse security alerts from various sources to detect potential threats.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation strategies.
- Support the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Perform regular security audits to identify potential risks and ensure compliance.
- Work closely with IT and security teams to enhance threat detection capabilities.
- Assist in the implementation of security awareness training for employees.
- Keep up to date with emerging cyber threats, trends, and best practices.
Requirements:
- A degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a cyber security or IT security role.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection.
- Familiarity with incident response processes and forensic investigations.
- Ability to analyse security logs and detect anomalies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to convey security risks and solutions effectively.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP (desirable).
